This bread recipe is so easy to make and everyone will think you are a star in the kitchen! If I can make this delicious bread on the first try, I know anyone can. I always get a little nervous baking because it can be easy to mess it up if you don’t follow instructions. Only 4 ingredients and no messy flour mix!
I made the mix after dinner ( approximately 5 minutes to mix) covered it, let it sit on the counter overnight, and then it was ready to bake by morning. Ralph had homemade bread when he returned from an overnight shift along with eggs and sausage for breakfast. That is how you take care of your man!
It is basically a set it and forget it recipe. Just make sure you have a good Dutch oven to bake it in or at least a covered pan that can go in the oven with a lid.

In a large bowl stir together the flour, salt and yeast.
Stir in the warm water until it becomes a shaggy but cohesive dough. Do not over-work the dough.
Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap an d let it sit for at least 8-24 hours. (I made the dough at night and then baked first thing in the morning.)
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
Place your Dutch oven in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
While the Dutch oven is preheating, take the dough and roll in onto a well floured surface into a ball shape. Cover the dough with plastic wrap loosely until ready to bake.
After the Dutch oven has been warming for 30 minutes, place the bread dough into it. I placed on a piece of parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Cover with lid and bake for 30 mins.
Remove cover and bake for an additional 8-15 minutes uncovered or until it is crusty and golden brown.
Remove from oven and place bread on cutting board and slice with a bread knife.
I hope you enjoy this recipe! I plan on baking bread a lot more often now. Bread from the bakery like this is usually at least $5 a loaf. I can make with little effort and a lot cheaper. And of course nothing beats a loaf of homemade bread!
