1st wine review: Ancient Roots Dark Red Blend

We are going to start reviewing some of the many wines that we partake of. To start I’m going to admit that we are not wine snobs at all. We barely have the vocabulary to really undertake this endeavor, but we’re going to give it a shot anyhow… Don’t judge too harshly. We do know what we like and don’t like, and hopefully our reviews will help someone along the way. Oh yeah, we definitely favor red wines, but we promise to mix it up from time to time.

So the Ancient Roots Dark Red Blend is definitely a darker, bolder wine with overtones of coffee, chocolate and raspberries. Ralph enjoyed this one more than Naoma who described this wine as “heavy”. We had this with Spicy Chicken Kabobs, and both enjoyed the pairing. After dinner however, Naoma wanted no more. I on the other hand enjoyed the complex flavors and almost finished the bottle.

I think this bottle was in the $12 dollar range if I remember right. I would give this wine a 4 out of 5 star rating while Naoma gave it a 3 star rating.
