Does trying to blend a family sound easy? We can tell you it is not. We don’t even live in the same house, but there are many many variables which become challenges. Then read the stats of success vs failure in this scenario and you may just want to throw up your hands and say “what’s the point”?
The point is love, it’s happiness, it’s trying to defy the odds to be with the one you love. To make a long term go at it, to have someone to love til the end of time. But staying Optimistic can be challenging. In our case, fortunately, when one of us starts to doubt if we can do this, the other one is usually right there to bolster the others resolve. When I look at Naoma I melt, and when feel her gaze on me I feel like the luckiest guy in the world. Why would she love me? I’m nothing to look at. I need to stop questioning that and just accept that she does.

We both have kids and we both have ex-spouses, we both have homes and bills, etc. one day we do dream of blending all of this, can it be more than a dream? I am optimistic that it can, but it will require a lot of work and sacrifice and good will from our friends and kids alike.
